Illegal Immigration
immigrants
The video that we watched in class proved to be quite provocative and resulted in a an argument which did not budge either way. What I think is clear, though, is that something has to change. In my opinion it is clear that whatever the law is it must be obeyed until something is changed, and if that means there are unhappy people so be it. The country should never appear weak under any circumstance and most importantly must remain efficient. To be efficient, a formulaic way to decide who can stay and who can not stay in America must be created.
What must change immediately is how the aliens or immigrants are being treated in the detention camps. This is a quick and easy fix that can be ensured by trusted government officials visiting these prisons and a simple email system where prisoners can email their grievances to members of the governed .The next change would be more expensive than the other one I just, however, it would reduce chances of prisoner abuse; the change will be an increase in the number of judges readily available for these cases. With these two changes that can be done relatively quickly it will ensure that treatment of immigrants will be better treated and the country will be able to reduce the time and money spent on immigrants.
The bigger problem than this though is whether or not the illegal immigrants should be deported regardless of whether or not they have done something wrong in their past. By coming to America illegally they have already done something illegal and therefore wrong. Illegal immigrants should always be deported unless they can show in court that they should be allowed to stay. America should not be open to all, it should open to those who are legally allowed.
